JI Fundamentals and Microtonal Composition
Since 2005 I have been teaching a weekly seminar at the Berlin University of the Arts and giving guest lectures around the world for musicians interested in rational or just intonation. This involves learning fundamentals of tuning and exploring ways of hearing, playing, and composing amazing JI sonorities. We experiment with voices, with acoustic, electronic, and digital instruments, as well as using software production tools to discover new harmonic possibilities and find connections between different ways of making music.
